Big Gorilla Sports does not need to know who you are, and unless you connect with a mate, it never does. This explains the little it keeps and why. Big Gorilla Sports is made by Human First AI, Victoria, Australia.
In the app: what we keep, and why
| What | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| A random device code made on your phone | So reminders reach the right phone. It is not your Apple ID or your phone's own identifier. | Always |
| Your push notification token | So Apple can deliver your reminders and alerts | When you allow notifications |
| Your time zone and country | Times in your time, and where to watch in your country | Always |
| What you follow, your reminder timing and alert choices | To know which reminders and change alerts to send you | Always |
| A record of reminders already sent | So you never get the same reminder twice | Always |
| Whether you have Pro | To switch on Pro features | Always |
| A private calendar link | So your Calendar app can fetch your sports and keep them up to date | With Pro, once you add the calendar |
| Your first name and a coded form of your Sign in with Apple identifier | So your mates can see it is you | Only if you connect with a mate |
| Your six digit mate code, connections, nudges and answers | So mates see who is watching what | Only if you connect with a mate |
| Anyone you block or report, and what you write in a report | To keep connections safe. We read every report. | Only if you block or report |
What we never collect
- No email address, phone number or contacts in the app. Sign in with Apple is asked for your first name only.
- No location. Your time zone comes from your phone's settings.
- No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data.
- No reading of your calendars. Your Calendar app fetches your sports from your private link; the app never sees your other calendars.
- No payment details. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple.
On this website
- The launch list. If you join it, we keep your email, your first name if you give it, the sports you pick, and when you agreed. We use them only to send you one email when the app is on the App Store. We delete the list within three months of that email, unless you choose then to hear more.
- "You in?" pages. When a mate sends you one and you answer, we keep the first name you type and your answer, and everyone with that link can see them. Your browser keeps a random code so you can change your answer later.
- Stopping abuse. We keep your internet address for about a day, only to limit how often anyone can sign up or answer.
- No cookies, no analytics, no ads. The page's typeface comes from Google Fonts, which sees your browser's request like any website does.
Where it is kept
On your phone, and on our service hosted by Supabase in Sydney, Australia. This website runs on Cloudflare. Notifications are delivered by Apple. The launch email is sent through an email service that may store your address outside Australia, only to send that email. Each fan's records can only be read through the app.
What your mates see
Only your first name, what you follow, and whether you are in for a session. Never your device, your times or anything else. Nobody can connect with you until you tap Accept.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep it while you use the app. In the app, Settings, Reset and delete my data removes everything at once: your follows, your device record, your calendar link, and your account and connections if you have them. If you added the calendar, remove it in iPhone Settings, Apps, Calendar, Calendar Accounts. Deleting the app stops all reminders; your device record is then removed after 12 months of no contact.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or complain. Write to hello@biggorillasports.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, the app will say so before the change applies. Last updated 28 October 2026.
